Dear friends,

Thank you for taking time to read our letter. We know there are many negative things being said and done in the world, but let us not follow the pattern of Matthew 24:12 “Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold.” That is the opposite of what is needed. As lawlessness abounds, love should abound even more. “Above all, maintain an intense love for each other, since love covers a multitude of sins. (1Pet. 4:8)

Things have been busy here. Between a team meeting, every day activities, and trying to raise Toby while exchanging different versions of the flu, we have been tired. Pray we can get well, and start being even more healthy (physically & spiritually).

We have a baptismal! The water is heating tonight, and tomorrow (October 2nd at 11 am our time) we are looking forward to baptizing 2 teens—siblings Daniel and Sofia—and Snežana, who was saved six years ago after volunteering at the camp. Ethan will give the sermon and be the one in the water baptizing them. Pray he says what God wants—no more, no less.

Pray for Klara’s situation as it has become increasingly complicated with her “husband,” who has been visiting more and drinking more.

We had a great time with Jan’s dad. 10 days passed quickly and we had a wonderful trip to Subotica to get to know Laszlo and Livia better, as they showed us around their hometown and region.

On October 15th, there should be a CBSI conference here in Niš, but nothing is fixed yet. This is a chance for others to hear about—and be encouraged to do—systematic Bible Study.

Let us know if there is anything we can pray about for you!

Jan, Ethan, and Toby
